SUMMARY

The Culinary Nutrition Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality food services, adhering to established recipes and portion control standards to fulfill menu specifications. This position involves managing inventory for bread and produce, along with preparing orders as necessary.

STATUS: Per Diem

DEPARTMENT: Nutrition

SCHEDULE: 8 Hour, Evenings

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Preferred: Secondary culinary education or BOCES training in culinary arts

Required: ServSafe Certification within 6 months of hire

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Daily review of the menu to guarantee the appropriate presentation of meals.
  2. Assessment of production sheets to ensure the correct quantity of food is prepared.
  3. Receiving and verifying food deliveries against requisition orders.
  4. Conducting physical inventory of bread and produce, preparing vendor orders accordingly.
  5. Preparation of meals for patients and cafeteria services, including those on modified or restricted diets.
  6. Monitoring food temperatures and maintaining accurate records.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This role requires medium work, involving the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Frequent walking, standing, or squatting is necessary.
