We are currently seeking a Business Banking Officer in our Findlay market. This role involves the prospecting, origination, processing, and assessment of new business opportunities, as well as the closing of commercial and agricultural loans, while also managing and servicing an existing client portfolio. The Business Banking Officer will cultivate strong relationships, focusing on commercial loans and deposits, along with Treasury Management products and services. Additionally, this position will represent the bank within the local community through active engagement in community initiatives and will assist in promoting all bank offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop commercial loan requests and deposits for both new and existing clients through regular outreach and sales activities.
  • Enhance bank profitability by strategically pricing new loan originations, generating fee income, and advocating for all bank products and services.
  • Evaluate applicants' financial status, creditworthiness, and property assessments to determine the viability of loan approvals, collaborating closely with Credit Analysts as necessary.
  • Negotiate loan terms, structure financing based on risk assessment, and present credit proposals for approval to the appropriate bank authorities.
  • Maintain communication with clients, providing updates on loan application progress.
  • Ensure loan agreements are complete and compliant with bank policies, facilitating the closing of loans.
  • Support the bank's relationship-focused culture through ongoing client engagement, exceptional customer service, and comprehensive product knowledge.
  • Promote a positive image of the financial institution in all business interactions within the community.
  • This role may require travel to various locations for meetings with management and staff, while also necessitating a consistent on-site presence for effective performance.
  • Adhere to all bank, state, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.

Preferred Experience:

  • Five to ten years of experience in a financial institution or loan environment.
  • Previous sales experience is advantageous.
  • Fundamental understanding of financial institution policies and procedures.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • High degree of professionalism and integrity.
  • Credit training is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to maintain a comprehensive understanding of the bank's products and services, as well as relevant regulations and operational systems.
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
