At Citizens National Bank, we pride ourselves on our team of highly skilled professionals within the financial services sector, establishing a robust foundation for community banking.

We are currently seeking a Business Banking Officer for our Findlay market. This role involves the prospecting, origination, processing, and assessment of new business opportunities, as well as the closing of commercial and agricultural loans. Additionally, you will maintain and service an existing portfolio while fostering strong relationships focused on commercial loans, deposits, and Treasury Management products and services. The Business Banking Officer will also represent the bank within the community through active engagement in local affairs and marketing the bank's comprehensive range of products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and cultivate commercial loan requests and deposits for both new and existing clients through regular outreach efforts.
  • Enhance bank profitability by strategically pricing new loan originations, generating fee income, and promoting all available bank products and services.
  • Evaluate applicant financial status, creditworthiness, and property assessments to determine the viability of loan approvals, collaborating closely with Credit Analysts as necessary.
  • Negotiate loan terms, structure financing based on risk assessments, and present credit proposals for approval to the appropriate bank authorities.
  • Maintain communication with clients, providing updates on loan application progress.
  • Ensure that loan agreements are complete and compliant with bank policies before closing.
  • Support the bank's relationship-focused culture through ongoing customer engagement, delivering exceptional service and in-depth product knowledge.
  • Promote a positive image of the financial institution through all business interactions within the community.
  • This role may require travel to various locations for meetings with management and staff, while also necessitating an on-site presence for effective performance.
  • Adhere to all bank, state, and federal policies, procedures, and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.

Preferred Experience:

  • Five to ten years of experience in a financial institution or loan environment.
  • Prior sales experience is advantageous.
  • Fundamental understanding of financial institution policies and procedures.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Credit training is essential.
  • Proficiency in software applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to maintain a comprehensive understanding of the bank's products and services, along with relevant regulations and operational systems.
  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
