The Field Engineer Role
This position is part of the project management team that includes the project manager, project coordinator, and superintendent. The Field Engineer's responsibilities are a subset of the Project Manager's responsibilities. This role is a stepping stone towards becoming a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Emphasis: Ensure HSE is emphasized throughout all phases of the project.
- Collaborative Work Environment: Establish a collaborative work environment for the project team members.
- Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with Subcontractors, Suppliers, design partners, and owners.
- Internal Relationships: Demonstrate effective internal working relationships with company management, administration staff, and craft management.
- Meetings and Reports: Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and internal staff. Prepare written communications and reports.
- Cost and Schedule Control: Assist with controlling the project's cost and schedule by ensuring effective project controls are in place.
- Pre-Construction Job Set-up: Assist with pre-construction job set-up and planning.
- Submittals and RFIs: Receive, review, forward, and track the status of submittals and RFIs.
- Project Records: Maintain project records.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary of $78,000 per year, determined by level of experience. Other benefits include medical, vision, and dental insurance coverage available on the first day of the month following 60 days of employment, a 401(k) match on eligible wages and available for eligible employees on the first of the month following 60 days of employment, 100% contribution matching up to 4% of the employee-eligible wages, paid time off, and paid holidays.
Location and Commitments
Project locations will be determined with input from the candidate, focusing on IMCO's projects in Washington.
Requirements and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need a minimum of 1 industry-related internship, a Bachelor's degree in business, construction management, engineering, or another technical field from an accredited university, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Analytical and problem-solving skills are also essential, along with experience with Microsoft Office Programs: Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
