Key Responsibilities- Create and run 0D and 1D simulation models to optimize engine performance.
- Collaborate with the 3D CFD team to ensure seamless integration of simulation and experimental results.
- Analyze simulation and experimental test results to identify performance gaps and recommend next steps in engine development.
- Think critically and question results to identify the most efficient technical paths to meet targets.
- Work closely with design and test engineers to ensure successful engine development.
- Participate in engine testing and calibration as needed.
- Develop and follow standardized procedures related to engine simulations.
- Present ideas and results to management and engineering teams.
- Stay up-to-date on engine technology and simulation software developments through independent research and formal courses.
- Master's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree with additional years of relevant experience.
- Deep understanding of engine efficiency, physics, and thermodynamics.
- Professional experience correlating engine simulations with physical experiments.
- Expertise in GT Power, with a minimum of 3 years of experience using this or other 1D engine simulation software on a daily basis.
- Ability to self-direct and independently solve problems.
- Knowledge and practical experience with DOE and optimization.
- MATLAB, CONVERGE, and Python programming skills.
- Experience with advanced rotary and piston engine technologies, such as EGR, Miller cycle, and HCCI.
- Good communication and proposal writing skills.
- Experience working in a prototype/R&D environment.
- Startup/small company experience.
