Job Summary
The Chef de Partie is responsible for the supervision of at least one or more cooks at their station. They will be in direct contact with the Executive Chef or Sous Chef for all instructions on the station. The ideal candidate will have experience in a high-volume, fine dining setting and possess strong knowledge of basic cooking, plating, and knife skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that food is prepared in a timely manner, maintaining a high level of quality and presentation.
- Answer, report, and follow executive or sous chef's instructions.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety guidelines.
- Know and comply with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to meet the business demand and assure a smooth service period.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and be proactive in anticipating and responding to the needs of team members.
- Use organized steps of service to ensure mechanical execution, striving for accuracy and consistency even in the busiest of times.
Requirements
- Prep or Line Cook experience in a high-volume, fine dining setting.
- Strong knowledge of basic cooking, plating, and knife skills.
- Availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for the duration of shifts and lift/push/pull up to 35 lbs.
