The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, is seeking highly qualified candidates for tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in the Department of Biology Teaching and Learning. The successful candidates will join a thriving and collaborative department, contributing to the academic and instructional mission of the unit, and providing service to the University where appropriate.
About the DepartmentThe Department of Biology Teaching and Learning is a unique department, dedicated to fostering biology education research and teaching excellence. The department is a nationally recognized leader in designing and implementing innovative student-centered approaches to biology teaching, in both classroom and laboratory settings.
Responsibilities- Establish a vibrant research program focused on undergraduate biology education research
- Contribute to the academic and instructional mission of the unit
- Provide service to the University where appropriate
- Ph.D. (or equivalent) in a relevant field
- Developing record of scholarship or experience in education research
- Capacity to teach biology topics utilizing evidence-based teaching methods
- Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse communities and cultures
