We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor to join our faculty in the Religious Studies Program at the University of Minnesota. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Early Islam and a demonstrated ability to teach and conduct research in this area.
ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Professor will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Religious Studies and Islamic Studies, as well as supervising graduate research. The successful candidate will also be expected to maintain an active program of scholarly research and publication, and contribute to the academic service and outreach activities of the Religious Studies Program.
QualificationsThe successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Religious Studies or a related field, and a strong command of classical Arabic. Demonstrated ability to work outside of and across traditional disciplines is also required.
