Geriatric Speech Language Pathologist Job Description

**Job Summary:**

22nd Century Technologies Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Geriatric Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a key member of our rehabilitation department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality speech therapy services to geriatric residents in our care.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • **Provide Speech Therapy Services:**
  • Perform services as a licensed Speech Language Pathologist for geriatric residents, utilizing evidence-based practices to improve communication and swallowing skills.
  • **Meet Regulatory Requirements:**
  • Possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence or Clinical Fellowship Year, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • **Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams:**
  • Work closely with medical staff, nursing, dietary, and rehabilitation teams to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication.
  • **Maintain Accurate Documentation:**
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation of assessments, recommendations, and treatment plans, ensuring seamless communication with healthcare providers.
  • **Offer Training and Education:**
  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff on swallowing techniques, diet modification, cognition, and communication, enhancing their knowledge and skills.
  • **Ensure Compliance and Quality:**
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, and other relevant standards, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • **Communicate Effectively:**
  • Maintain open and transparent communication with residents, families, and healthcare providers, addressing concerns and needs in a timely and professional manner.

**Requirements:**

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
  • Current licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Experience in geriatric care and rehabilitation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
