Job DescriptionJob Summary
Ferrovial is seeking a highly skilled Road Maintenance Technician - Signage and Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing roads and other infrastructure assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the maintenance of contracted assets, including roadways, medians, signs, guardrails, fences, bridges, tunnels, vegetation, and litter removal, in accordance with standards and as directed by supervisor.
- Set up and remove traffic control devices, including cones, message/arrow boards, and temporary signage, to create safe Maintenance of Traffic (M.O.T) control.
- Operate large trucks and specialized motor vehicles and trailers to transport crew and equipment to work sites.
- Contribute to a diverse, inclusive, and fair work environment, free from discrimination, bullying, and harassment.
- Carry out all duties in line with Company policies and procedures as amended from time to time.
- Maintain large and small signs on and off the client system, including installing small signs and sign mounts, and installing large signs with the assistance of a crane operator.
- Conduct routine field inspections to ensure the condition of existing signs, mounts, and sign connections.
- Maintain a database report for clients that includes installation date, age, reflectivity, and types of signs.
- Maintain an inventory of available signs at client storage locations and coordinate with clients to order necessary signs.
- Perform nighttime sign inspections to determine retro reflectivity once per year.
- Maintain the appearance and functionality of signs through repair and/or replacement using hand or power tools.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- One year of work experience in infrastructure, maintenance, and repair preferred.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required to drive a company vehicle.
- Ability to pass and obtain Advanced M.O.T Certification required.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
The employee is regularly exposed to traffic and outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, fume or airborne particles, and frequent exposure to insects and infrequent exposure to reptiles/rodents. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be more than moderate at times.
The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk on a wide range of surfaces, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Use manual and powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tools and equipment. Vision abilities include both close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to pass fit test for respirator as required. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
