We are seeking a highly skilled Road Maintenance Technician to join our team at Webber. As a key member of our Infrastructure Management team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our contract assets, including guardrails, roadways, bridges, fences, and signs.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair guardrails and operate relevant equipment.
- Perform maintenance and repair tasks on roadways and other surfaces, including filling potholes, replacing striping, and installing and replacing reflectors.
- Maintain the appearance and functionality of roadway signs, fencing, and roadway lighting through repair or replacement using hand or power tools.
- Ensure the cleanliness of highways and medians by removing and disposing of litter and debris.
- Transport crew and equipment to work sites, operating large trucks and specialized motor vehicles and trailers.
- Contribute to a diverse, inclusive, and fair work environment, free from discrimination, bullying, and harassment.
- Carry out all duties in line with Company policies and procedures.
- Repair and maintain the functionality of slopes, berms, culverts, drains, and other infrastructure assets.
- Control vegetation appearance and growth through the use of lawn mowing equipment, hand or power trimmers, and chemical sprayers.
- Create safe traffic control zones by setting up and removing traffic control devices, including cones, message/arrow boards, and temporary signage.
- Work at heights in bucket trucks, scaffolding, ladders, and aerial platforms lifts.
- Maintain and repair bridge structures.
- Transport crew and equipment to work sites, operating pickup trucks and specialized motor vehicles.
- Be available and accessible for emergency response rotations, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 3-5 years of related experience.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record required to drive a company vehicle.
- Commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A preferred.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely exposed to traffic and outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, fume or airborne particles, and frequent exposure to insects and infrequent exposure to reptiles/rodents. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be more than moderate on occasion.
The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk on a wide range of surfaces, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Use manual and powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric powered tools and equipment. Vision abilities include both close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to pass fit test for respirator as required. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
