Job Description:

The Logistics Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining high-performance objectives for all departmental standards, including safety, timeliness, quality/accuracy, security, and productivity. This individual will serve as a mentor to the team and work proactively on multiple tasks with minimal or no supervision.

The Logistics Technician will be responsible for driving a culture of safety and quality, ensuring that all processes are performed safely and efficiently. This includes creating an environment that fosters team and individual empowerment, participating in monthly safety meetings, and promoting a safe work environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, and inventory management. They will be able to follow all work instructions and safety protocols, understand the properties and hazards associated with chemicals and compressed gases, and be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.

The Logistics Technician will also be responsible for preparing and confirming all shipping orders through ERP/Ross, ensuring accuracy of all transactions within ERP, and maintaining a clean, neat, and orderly work area. They will work closely with the Logistics Supervisor and Logistics Lead to ensure proper training and integration of new team members.

Responsibilities:

  1. Drive a culture of safety and quality
  2. Perform assigned processes to meet daily logistics activities
  3. Create an environment that fosters team and individual empowerment
  4. Participate in monthly safety meetings
  5. Ensure all work processes and work instructions are followed
  6. Ensure all Environmental, Safety and Health standards and regulations are met or exceeded
  7. Ensure all technicians wear the required PPE for the task at hand
  8. Maintain proper inventory levels of packaging and shipping supplies
  9. Act as the first responder for equipment, process, and general logistics issues
  10. Facilitate forklift operations to load and unload carrier trucks
  11. Initiates and administers ongoing safety programs
  12. Assist with customer and/or supplier deliveries
  13. Complete annual personal goals to support achievement of site goals and complete personal development goals to support career development
  14. Archive all shipping related documents in ERP Report Archive
  15. Ensure accuracy of all transactions within ERP to guarantee operational efficiency
  16. Ensure accuracy of all federal filings (AES, etc.) to avoid regulatory repercussions
  17. Schedule vessel shipments in time to meet required shipping dates for on-time order fulfillment
  18. Establish and maintain a strong relationship with other departments as needed on logistics processes/quality issues
  19. Act as a backup to the Logistics Lead in the weekly production meeting to align logistics activities received with the site's weekly needs
  20. Train Logistics Technicians on all Cylinder Handling functions and ERP programs
  21. Assist in tracking important logistics/supply chain KPI Metrics
  22. Assist in SOP and WI revisions as needed
  23. Monitor outgoing shipping requests to ensure on-time shipping RM canisters, non-standard orders, and special requests as necessary
  24. Train Logistics Technicians on cylinder, canister defect/damage identification for signs of failure or leakage, to ensure the overall safety of warehouse/plant personnel
  25. Ensure all documentation including pictures of outgoing shipments are completed and archived
  26. Must be flexible and be able to work overtime hours when needed
  27. Required to complete all assigned training successfully and on time
  28. Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
  29. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse
  30. Ensure that no alarms or interlocks are bypassed
  31. Comply with all company safety policies and MSDS Standards
  32. Perform all required trainings as they are assigned
  33. Ability to roll cylinders
  34. Fitness for duty, including but not limited to: ability to lift 50 pounds and have the ability to climb ladders

Required Qualifications:

  1. Requires a high school diploma or higher
  2. 2-5 years of relevant industry experience in logistics operations (shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory management)
  3. Experience in filing IMO, AES, and ISF information
  4. Experience in working with forwarders to provide clearance information for imports as well as exports
  5. Ability to follow all work instructions and safety protocols
  6. Ability to understand the properties and hazards associated with chemicals and compressed gases
  7. Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
  8. Prepare and Confirm all shipping orders through ERP/Ross
  9. Must be a quick learner with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain focus and adapt to a variety of challenges
  10. Attention to detail and ability to follow directions to meet deadlines
  11. Proven record of good written and verbal communication skills
  12. Computer literate with experience using Microsoft office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  13. Computer literate with Google Docs, Sheets, & Slides
  14. Valid Driver license with Good Driving Record
  15. Must be able to move around a large warehouse for 8 or more hours in a fast-paced warehouse environment
  16. Must be able to repetitively lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  17. Significant manual dexterity for keying in data for long periods of time
  18. Demonstrated customer service orientation
  19. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  20. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  21. Ability to roll cylinders
  22. Fitness for duty, including but not limited to: ability to lift 50 pounds and have the ability to climb ladders
