Key Responsibilities:
  • Completion of a degree from an accredited institution in dietetics, nutrition, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in dietetics, including at least one year as a licensed Registered Dietitian. Educational qualifications may substitute for some experience.
Role Summary:
  • Under general oversight, the Clinical Nutrition Specialist is tasked with delivering professional dietetic services. This includes designing therapeutic meal plans and providing medical nutrition therapy aimed at preventing and managing health conditions. The specialist will also serve as a resource for medical and nursing personnel.
  • Evaluates and interprets data from patient medical records (including diagnoses, nutritional history, dietary intake, anthropometric measurements, and lab results) to formulate recommendations that enhance or sustain nutritional health.
  • Determines dietary needs, current medical treatments, and develops tailored nutrition care strategies while offering nutritional guidance. This involves calculating weight ranges, body mass index (BMI), and daily nutritional requirements (such as caloric intake, proteins, and fluids) to create effective nutrition care plans. The specialist will also assess the caloric and nutrient composition of individual and facility menus to ensure they meet the therapeutic needs of clients.
