The Senior Oil & Gas Revenue Specialist position arises from an internal promotion, offering potential for career advancement and increased responsibilities, including Joint Interest Billing (JIB) Accounting.

Key Responsibilities
The Senior Oil & Gas Revenue Specialist will be responsible for the compilation, preparation, and recording of monthly revenue figures, coordinating the establishment of new wells, and ensuring compliance with specific contractual agreements.

Additional duties in revenue accounting encompass:
  • Retrieving and reconciling electronic revenue data
  • Establishing and maintaining allocations for common meters and delivery points
  • Monitoring undisbursed items from purchaser checks, requesting necessary documentation, and researching production data
  • Collaborating with various departments and purchasers to gather essential information for accurate revenue recognition
  • Contacting purchasers for additional information as needed
  • Investigating discrepancies between production and revenue, identifying and tracking down missing revenues
  • Researching and reconciling revenue-related general ledger accounts
  • Compiling data for audit inquiries
  • Coordinating with the Controller and CFO, as well as other departments, to gather required data for accounting functions
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Accounting sector
  • At least 3 years in a Revenue Accounting role within the Oil & Gas industry
  • Familiarity with IFS Excaliber upstream oil & gas accounting software is advantageous
  • Experience in small to midsize oil & gas firms, providing exposure to the full spectrum of revenue processes
  • In-depth knowledge of Oil & Gas Revenue theory and practices
  • Proficient Excel skills
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Effective communication skills to interact with other departments and external entities
  • Ability to assist in audits, owner inquiries, and special projects as required
