Job Summary

The Steward Lead is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all areas of the hotel, including the kitchen, storage areas, and back dock. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate the Stewarding Team

Supervise and coordinate the activities of the stewarding team to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and on time. This includes assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and providing guidance and support as needed.

Maintain a Clean and Sanitary Environment

Operate the dish-washing equipment to ensure that all china, glass, and silver are cleaned thoroughly and sanitation of such is maintained. Replace all clean china, glass, and silver in its proper storage location using care to minimize breakage.

Assist with Food Storage and Rotation

Assist with proper food storage and rotation to ensure that food is stored at the correct temperature and that expired or spoiled food is removed in a timely manner.

Perform Other Tasks as Assigned

Perform other tasks and jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager, including sweeping and mopping floors, emptying garbage, and maintaining the cleanliness of the back dock and dumpster area.

Requirements
  • Previous Supervisor Experience Required

Previous supervisor experience is required for this role. The ideal candidate will have experience in a hotel or related field and be able to convey information and ideas clearly.

High School Diploma or Equivalent

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sanitation and safety procedures and be able to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.

Strong Communication and Problem-Solving Skills

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and problem-solving skills and be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
