Position Summary
As an Environmental Assessment Specialist within our Due Diligence group, you will be responsible for conducting Phase 1 and Property Condition Assessments for our national clientele. This role requires frequent travel to various project locations across the United States.
Main Responsibilities
- Execute Phase I/II environmental site assessments (ESA), subsurface investigations, and remediation project tasks.
- Prepare comprehensive client-facing ESA reports, ensuring the inclusion of precise data, summary tables, and figures.
- Collaborate with senior managers to coordinate work activities across multiple project functions, ensuring timely and satisfactory delivery.
- Assist in achieving project milestones, budgetary constraints, deadlines, and other performance metrics.
- Support the selection and management of project staff and subcontractors.
- Draft proposals for additional project work.
- Develop and implement Health and Safety Plans/Job Safety Analyses for various sites.
- Undertake other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, or a related environmental discipline is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in environmental assessment and remediation projects, including ASTM Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II Limited subsurface investigations for due diligence, contaminated site characterization, and remediation program implementation.
- Proficient understanding of ASTM assessment standards.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong technical report writing capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while adhering to deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential; familiarity with CAD and/or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel frequently for fieldwork; a valid driver's license is mandatory.
Additional Information
Physical requirements include the ability to navigate job sites during inspections, which may involve uneven terrain, climbing ladders to assess roofing conditions and equipment during PCA projects, and regularly carrying field testing equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
