Transform the Future of Cloud Infrastructure
Microsoft Corporation is seeking a highly motivated Principal AI Hardware Architect to join our Strategic Planning and Architecture (SPARC) team within Azure Hardware Systems & Infrastructure (AHSI) organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for architecting large-scale systems that support breakthrough performance AI workloads and shaping Azure's AI infrastructure roadmap.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze hardware architecture for AI workloads
- Architect large-scale systems that support breakthrough performance AI workloads
- Benchmark GPUs and other AI hardware IPs
- Drive NN model/HW co-design
- Understand business-critical AI workloads/applications
- Develop and analyze novel NN architectures
Requirements:
- 10+ years of technical engineering experience
- OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years of technical engineering experience
- OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years of technical engineering experience
- OR Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience
- 7+ years of experience in Computer Architecture or AI Systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS/PhD in Machine learning, Computer Architecture/Systems, Electrical Engineering, High-Performance Computing or related areas
- Understanding of fundamentals of AI workloads/applications
- Knowledge of commonly used AI and HPC workloads and how they are mapped onto large-scale systems
- Hands-on experience with frameworks such as Pytorch/Tensorflow/TensorRT
- Deep knowledge of CNN/transformer architecture and optimization strategies
Benefits and Compensation:
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
