About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Employment Counsel to join our Labor and Employment Legal Team. As an attorney on this team, you will provide labor and employment support to our firm's Human Capital team and Strategic Business Units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional interpersonal and innovative problem-solving skills to support the Legal and Human Capital teams.
  • Manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously, showcasing your organizational and time management skills.
  • Develop and implement effective solutions to labor and employment issues, balancing practicality with legal risk mitigation.
  • Review and prepare employment agreements, performance documentation, and separation documents with attention to detail.
  • Stay up-to-date with new federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, ensuring compliance.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctorate degree with 7+ years in employment-related practice, with direct counseling experience to business executives in the financial services industry.
  • State of Tennessee bar admission (active and in good standing) or admission to another State's bar with the ability to obtain In-House designation in Tennessee.
  • Significant subject matter experience in risk mitigation related to employee-life cycle events such as hiring, employee relations, performance management, termination, and workforce reductions.
