Associate Director of Psychiatry, University Counseling Center

The Associate Director of Psychiatry is a key member of the University Counseling Center (UCC) leadership team, responsible for providing coordination and leadership of the psychiatry team. This position requires a Board-certified/board-eligible Psychiatrist with completion of ACGME-approved psychiatric residency and active medical licensure in Tennessee or ability to obtain licensure within 1 year.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical and functional leadership and supervision to psychiatry team members
- Integrate psychiatric providers seamlessly into the operations of the UCC through continuous improvements in communications, systems, and structures
- Provide professional psychiatric treatment to students, including integrated psychiatric assessments and ongoing care
- Develop effective working relationships with the Vanderbilt community, including Student Care Network entities, academic deans, faculty, residential staff, Student Affairs, Vanderbilt University Police Department, Athletics, and other relevant campus partners
- Collaborate on proactive, effective, and innovative programs for students based on knowledge and awareness of emerging campus mental health trends and needs
- Board-certified/board-eligible Psychiatrist with completion of ACGME-approved psychiatric residency
- Active medical licensure in Tennessee or ability to obtain licensure within 1 year
- Eligibility and/or active DEA
- Experience working with transitional age youth and diverse clients, including individuals from ethnically/racially diverse backgrounds and individuals representing varying sexual orientations
