About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Motor Vehicle Specialist I to join our team at Douglas County. As a key member of our Motor Vehicle Services team, you will be responsible for processing title applications, issuing motor vehicle registrations, and providing exceptional customer service to the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Title Applications: Verify accuracy of documentation, determine types of titles and registrations needed, and calculate and collect appropriate tax and registration fees.
  • Issue Motor Vehicle Registrations: Ensure compliance with motor vehicle statutes, rules, and regulations, and communicate daily with the public, dealerships, finance companies, and banks regarding title application procedures and other motor vehicle issues.
  • Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Respond to customer complaints, explain statutes or policies and procedures, and provide written and verbal communication to customers regarding fees, reason for rejection of documents, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform Other Duties: Assist with business operations, statutory compliance, and department needs, and may be required to work in the Elections Division during election cycles.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED Certificate is required, and one year of experience in a clerical or customer service field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities is preferred.
  • Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations: May be required to obtain and maintain Driver's License Certification through the State of Colorado.
