Our flagship offering, Care-Wallet, is an innovative digital platform designed to streamline the management of complex caregiving tasks for individuals with neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.

Your Profile: We are seeking a seasoned technical product developer/engineer who is enthusiastic about shaping the future of Care-Wallet and contributing to a dynamic tech startup in its formative phase. A genuine passion for assisting families in planning and managing care for older adults is essential. Candidates located in Maine or Massachusetts are preferred.

Role Responsibilities: You will be accountable for overseeing all facets of product development and customer support, including active software development. This is a full-time hybrid position within an early-stage startup that offers potential for growth into a leadership role. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and enhancing the complete suite of web and mobile application functionalities for Care-Wallet.
  • Establishing and maintaining the technology strategy roadmap, which involves identifying and implementing suitable technologies to align with the company's business objectives, managing technical risks, and ensuring coherence with the company's vision.
  • Leading all phases of product development, which includes designing and implementing software systems, ensuring that the software architecture is scalable, adaptable, and resilient.
  • Contributing hands-on to algorithm design, model development/evaluation, and implementation, particularly during the initial stages of team formation.
  • Effectively managing company and user data, encompassing data collection, storage, and analysis, while ensuring data privacy and security.
  • Building and nurturing a talented technical team, fostering a positive and engaging work environment.
  • Inspiring and motivating team members, establishing clear goals and expectations, and providing guidance and support to help them reach their objectives.
  • Developing strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and preferences, collaborating closely to create products and services that fulfill their requirements.
  • Maintaining key partnerships with suppliers, technology vendors, and other industry players.
  • Staying informed about key technological trends and advancements to guide the strategic direction of the product.

Essential Qualifications:

Required:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience in developing full-stack web and mobile applications, including both frontend and backend design and implementation. Proficiency in React, JS, NodeJS, Python, Java, Golang, etc.
  • Familiarity with AWS Services such as Cognito, Amplify, API Gateway, Dynamo DB, Lambda Functions, etc.
  • Strong understanding of security protocols (HIPAA Compliance, OAuth 2.0, JWT tokens, mTLS, TLS 1.3, etc.) and API technologies.
  • Experience working in cloud environments (AWS/Azure/Google) and knowledge of monitoring and supporting live web and mobile applications.
  • Robust background in software development, technical architecture design, and comprehension of the software development lifecycle in an agile setting (scrum and kanban).
  • Understanding of AI/ML technologies and the ability to integrate automation, CI/CD using Jenkins, GitActions, Terraform, or similar tools.
  • Strong leadership and management capabilities, with a proven ability to lead an effective technical team in a hybrid environment.
  • A decisive leader who demonstrates sound judgment in decision-making and shows accountability, adaptability, and the ability to perform under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the healthcare sector, particularly in startup leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience as a CTO or in a comparable executive leadership position within a startup or fast-paced environment.
  • Expertise in developing and executing technical strategies and roadmaps focused on driving innovation and growth.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with all stakeholders.
  • Experience in building and leading AI-focused engineering teams, comprising both data scientists and engineers.

Location: Ideally based in Maine, with openness to candidates from Massachusetts or the broader New England area.
