Job PurposeWe are seeking an experienced Gas Construction and Maintenance Engineering Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building relationships with municipal authorities, reviewing municipal plans, and coordinating gas-related projects to meet the needs of both our company and the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities- Work with municipal authorities to foster open communication and coordinate gas-related projects
- Review municipal plans to identify work and resolve conflicts
- Deliver relevant information to affected parties in a timely and thorough manner
- Facilitate and coordinate public works projects to meet customer and regulatory requirements
- Negotiate and agree to cost allocation and contract terms with municipal authorities and other utilities
- Prepare documentation and reports to support two-way communication and continuous improvement of processes
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or science from an ABET accredited school
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in engineering, with natural gas engineering or gas distribution experience preferred
- Awareness of municipal planning processes and different working practices between authorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, negotiation, presentation, and project management skills
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local natural gas regulation and codes
