Job Purpose

Project Engineering & Design is responsible for designing large-scale gas projects that ensure the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to customers. Our team is seeking a Senior LNG Engineer to lead LNG and CNG facility projects, incorporating applicable standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements into gas system designs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide complete gas engineering and design for New England LNG and CNG facility projects.
  • Incorporate applicable standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements into gas system designs, including safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Identify and specify special order materials, as required.
  • Develop and gain approval of project scope and construction requirements.
  • Identify and acquire necessary permits, licenses, and land rights associated with the project.
  • Work with LNG operations and asset management to ensure system maps and records are available and accurate.
  • Assist Codes and Standards Engineers and LNG operations compliance department with evaluating company engineering design standards.
  • Participate or lead inter-regional projects activities, including travel to upstate and downstate New York service territories.
  • Develop project bid specifications and assist in procurement of engineering design work and construction services.
  • Manage external engineering design firms to ensure work is performed in accordance with company standards, within budget, and on schedule.
  • Perform design quality peer reviews of other engineers' work.
  • Provide support, training, and guidance to younger engineers.
  • Make authoritative technical recommendations to support engineering design.
  • Seal and stamp designs developed under direct charge and supervision, as required.
  • Establish and lead engineering design project teams to develop and manage all engineering aspects of a project.
  • Work with asset management engineers to support upfront engineering requirements and project scoping.
  • Implement change control procedures to track design changes and identify associated risks.
  • Provide technical engineering support for the project during the construction phase.
  • Participate in storm restoration activities or other system emergencies as called upon.
Requirements
  • ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline.
  • 6-10 years of engineering experience, with the ability to attain PE in 3 years.
  • Expert technical knowledge of natural gas system design and operations, including industry codes and regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, PHMSA, and MA/RI regulations.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects within budget and time constraints.
  • Ability to assess project scopes and identify required variances prior to design.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with PC software applications, including the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with work management applications, such as SAP, Maximo, and Power Plant.
