User Assistance Technician I

The User Assistance Technician is tasked with delivering technical assistance to users, including students, faculty, and staff, regarding desktop and laptop systems, printers, classroom audiovisual equipment, and laboratory resources within the organization. This position encompasses the installation, repair, and upkeep of software and hardware tailored to the institution's requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the installation, upkeep, and repair of hardware in classrooms and meeting spaces
  • Provide support for the organization's Help Desk, both on-site and remotely
  • Oversee the maintenance of computers, printers, audiovisual systems, laboratory technology, and simulation tools
  • Implement firmware updates for both hardware and software
  • Propose enhancements for equipment upgrades and replacements
  • Participate in training sessions to improve understanding of equipment and operating systems
  • Perform additional tasks as required
Required Qualifications:
  • Associate degree is mandatory
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience; Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Proficient in troubleshooting computer hardware and software
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft and Apple operating systems
  • Background in customer service and help desk operations
  • Experience with audiovisual equipment setup and maintenance
