Position Summary:

We are on the lookout for a skilled and experienced Cloud Operations Engineer to become a vital part of our engineering team. This role is essential in architecting, executing, and sustaining our infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and automation processes that underpin our software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in software development, system administration, and cloud technologies, coupled with a commitment to enhancing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Automated Deployment Pipeline: Design, construct, and uphold a fully automated CI/CD pipeline to ensure smooth code transitions from development to production.
  • Infrastructure Automation: Develop and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) utilizing tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation for automated resource provisioning in AWS.
  • Environment Management: Create and implement automated workflows for the swift establishment and deployment of various environments (QA, staging, production) using IaC methodologies.
  • Deployment Techniques: Construct and oversee deployment pipelines that facilitate red-black/red-green strategies to minimize downtime and guarantee high availability during updates.
  • AWS Tools Utilization: Leverage AWS native tools (e.g., CloudFormation, CloudWatch, IAM) to develop scalable and secure solutions.
  • Resilient Infrastructure: Design and execute resilient infrastructure solutions that ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Security Protocols: Implement zero-trust security frameworks to safeguard systems and data, ensuring that all access requests are verified and authorized.
  • Monitoring Solutions: Establish monitoring and logging systems (e.g., CloudWatch, ELK stack) to maintain service health and performance, proactively addressing issues.
  • Scripting and Automation: Create automation scripts using languages like Python and Bash to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance operational workflows.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, and other teams to gather requirements, provide technical insights, and ensure adherence to DevOps standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of infrastructure setups, deployment processes, and best practices, sharing knowledge with team members through various formats.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years in DevOps, system administration, or software engineering, focusing on cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong grasp of AWS services and cloud computing principles, with practical experience in AWS tools.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools and version control systems.
  • Understanding of networking concepts and security principles, with experience in AWS network configurations.
  • Experience with monitoring tools and practices, including setting up alerts and dashboards.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages and automation frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of working in a collaborative environment.
