Administrative Services Coordinator

The selected candidate will serve as the Administrative Officer for Geriatric Extended Care within the Patient Care Services of the Veterans Health Administration. This role is pivotal in delivering and enhancing a variety of management services that are crucial for optimizing the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
Eligibility Criteria
- Career transition programs for federal employees who qualify as 'surplus' or 'displaced'.
- Current employees within the Veterans Health Administration.
- Address performance or conduct issues, implementing corrective actions and preparing necessary documentation.
- Assess employee training needs and facilitate both formal and informal training opportunities to enhance job performance.
- Foster a culture of self-improvement among staff.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to manage classification, recruitment, and employee relations.
- Oversee personnel actions, maintain employee records, and establish performance standards and job descriptions.
- Lead the administrative functions of the service line, ensuring compliance with operational procedures and fiscal responsibility.
- Provide strategic administrative guidance to section leaders and clinic managers.
- Coordinate nursing staffing across service lines in collaboration with clinic management.
- Promote an empowering work environment that encourages employee participation in achieving organizational goals.
- Facilitate the negotiation and procurement of capital equipment, ensuring justifications are in place for purchases.
- Manage the preparation and processing of acquisition requests and office relocations.
- Assist in evaluating equipment and software needs for electronic medical record systems.
Additional Information
Participation in seasonal influenza and COVID-19 vaccination programs is mandatory for all personnel.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet specific experience or educational requirements to qualify for this position. Experience in managing administrative functions within a healthcare setting is preferred.
