Job Title: Communications Manager

Resources for Community Development (RCD) is a leading regional nonprofit developer and provider of affordable housing. Our mission is to create and preserve affordable housing for people with the fewest options, build community, and enrich lives.

We are seeking a skilled Communications Manager to join our team. This role will work closely with the Communications Director to implement comprehensive communication strategies that promote RCD's mission, programs, and activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and update the RCD website, including pages for properties under development, career page updates, and annual website refreshes.
  • Co-create and update web content, including quarterly newsletter and annual report webpages, and ensure accessibility and integration of RCD's mission and values.
  • Develop and execute social media strategies to enhance visibility and engagement with collaboration and oversight from the Communications Director.
  • Oversee the creation of visual content, including staff photos, property photos, and event photography.
Requirements:
  • Five or more years of communications or fundraising experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a demonstrated ability to produce clear and engaging content for various audiences.
  • Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) and email marketing platforms.
  • Experience with website management (WordPress preferred) and social media platforms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
Work Environment:

RCD is currently practicing a hybrid work model. Depending on your distance from our main office in Berkeley, you will be expected to work up to two days in the office.

Travel Requirements:

The responsibilities of this position will require occasional travel to off-site locations around the San Francisco Bay Area.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, speak and hear. Requires frequent use of a keyboard, computer monitor and phone. Must be able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to lift up to twenty (20) pounds occasionally. RCD offers competitive benefits including paid vacation and sick leave; health, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance; pre-tax flexible spending and commuter plans; and employer contributions to a retirement savings plan.

The salary range for this position is $88,200 to $92,850 based on factors including experience, qualifications, role specialization, and market conditions. Salary placement within this range considers current and past employees' salaries for similar roles, budgetary limits, and market demand.
