ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing all facets of technical projects for one of the leading national broadcasters. This position works closely with business and engineering teams to comprehend future growth strategies and collaborations with top technology vendors and service providers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee projects from inception to completion.
  • Manage vendors and cross-functional project teams to ensure timely delivery.
  • Handle project scope, budget estimates, timelines, change requests, and other project documentation.
  • Address and escalate issues promptly.
  • Prepare regular financial reports and forecasts for project stakeholders, highlighting key insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and team members to ensure accurate and timely financial data collection and reporting.
  • Conduct financial analyses to support decision-making and project planning activities.
  • Issue purchase orders and coordinate with vendors and logistics teams to track deliveries.
  • Receive purchased equipment and ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Monitor service contracts for all Media and Broadcast Engineering vendors to project future operational expenses and liabilities.
  • Effectively communicate project status to all stakeholders and senior management, outlining key issues and risks and steps toward resolution.
  • Update senior management on project and task status.

REQUIREMENTS

Level & Role Specific Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in technical project and program management.
  • Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, adapting as needed based on project requirements and constraints.

Proven project management experience:

  • Planning, scheduling, project communication, issue resolution, change management, and risk management.
  • Experience in developing and managing budgets for a portfolio of projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and financial limitations.
  • Able to lead cross-functional teams comprising product, design, and engineering.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple project stakeholders, including internal teams, external vendors, contractors, business users, and senior management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent project leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills suitable for interaction with network clients, vendors, and senior management.
  • Experience with various project management methodologies.
  • Ability to comprehend technical and design documents.

General Qualifications:

  • Ability to work effectively across multiple projects and manage teams of project managers.
  • Ability to track engineering tasks and create an overall program structure to align deliverables for each project.

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent practical experience in Project Management.
  • Strong knowledge of common collaboration tools, such as Smartsheet, Excel, and Atlassian products like Jira & Confluence.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
