Job Summary

Responsible for operating and maintaining plastic extruding equipment to produce high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety of self and others in the work area
  • Handle hazardous waste according to regulations
  • Analyze product attributes and make process adjustments to meet specifications
  • Participate in quality improvement processes
  • Manufacture products to specifications
  • Perform inspections and record product data
  • Improve product and process quality
  • Complete equipment and product set-ups
  • Run auxiliary equipment as required
  • Change supply and take-up reels
  • Remove product from the extruder and deliver to a designated area
  • Maintain tool and auxiliary equipment inventory
  • Perform maintenance duties as required
  • Obtain materials from delivery points and service equipment needs
  • Clean machines, work areas, and weigh scrap
  • Order and bill back materials
  • Complete necessary paperwork
Requirements
  • General computer skills, including reading and comprehending specifications
  • General math skills, including measuring product attributes
  • Communication skills, including adequate communication with others on all shifts
  • Ability to write or print clearly and record product data
  • Ability to perform duties of a minimum of one other job classification in their cell
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment and hold a valid powered industrial truckers license
  • Team player with a responsible and participatory role
