Senior Property Accountant

Consultative Search Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Property Accountant to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements, general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and analyze financial statements, general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and budgets (monthly and yearly).
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in managing the timeliness of Financial Statements, Bank Reconciliations, and all other monthly reporting/closing procedures.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile, verify and validate all entries and postings to balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations for assigned portfolio.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Review and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and maintain a schedule of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Vendor Management: Reconcile vendor accounts and ensure payments are up to date.
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare analysis of accounts, such as expense distribution, AP aging, check register, and other required reports during month-end.
  • Job Cost Module: Support Job Cost module and prepare loan draws (CapEx Reserves, Required Repairs, etc).
  • Delinquency Review: Review delinquency per assigned property and makes sure monthly write-offs are completed.
  • Accounting Procedures: Contribute to the development of accounting procedures and strategies to improve efforts, record keeping, and account management including exploring new tools and software.
  • Budget Comparison: Review budget comparison for accuracy and performs re-class and accruals as needed.
  • Monthly Budget Variance Analysis: Assist with monthly budget variance analysis.
  • Internal and External Audits: Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Annual Budget Preparations: Assist with annual budget preparations.
  • Accounting Items: Assist with accounting items related to buying and selling properties, as needed.
  • Team Support: Perform other duties as needed by the CFO and Accounting Supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, or Finance a plus.
  • Experience: 3-7 years experience working in an accounting department preparing financials.
  • Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience in AppFolio and/or other Major ERP preferred.
  • Abilities: Ability to process complex tasks with minimal instructions. Ability to multi-task and have good organizational skills. Must possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
