Job Summary

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Gynecologic Surgical Service Line team at our Athens campus and Gynecologic Oncology clinic. This is a full-time position with varying call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform first OR assist duties
  • Rounding on patients in the hospital
  • Assist in management of post-operative and critically ill patients in the hospital
  • Evaluate post-operative patients in the office setting
  • Apply specialized skills and knowledge related to the care of patients in the CVOR, ICU, CCU, and CVICU areas
  • Contribute to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, consulting, and provide leadership to the organization
  • Assess patient and perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physician in diagnosing medical and surgical problems and prescribe necessary treatment and services for quality patient care
  • Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, write progress notes, prepare patient workups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings, obtain psychosocial history relevant to patient care, and assume responsibility for developing therapeutic relationships with patients
  • Order and schedule laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Explain necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedure(s) to the patient, patient's family, and staff
  • Monitor progress of patients, report progress to supervising physician, and maintain record of each patient's progress, consulting with supervising physician when patient's progress does not meet anticipated and/or predetermined criteria
