About this Position:

Lead strategic engineering activities within a powertrain manufacturing department with focus on achievement of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost characteristics. Specific responsibilities include leadership of manufacturing principal engineers, technical guidance for manufacturing lines, and managing overall department investment strategy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overall leadership and guidance of manufacturing Principal Engineers related to mass production engineering activities
  • Establish department investment strategy based on long term production schedules and department conditions
  • Act as Technical evaluator for all department New Model and Investment projects
  • Develop and execute overall department engineering staffing and development activities
  • Support other North American engine manufacturing facilities as technical expert
  • Coordinate department activity for category GP-RO-LO collaboration and diffusion

Who we are seeking:

Required Work Experience:

  • 10 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience

Desired skills:

  • Honda systems understanding (production operations, E-Flow, New Model, Investment committee)
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Precision manufacturing machine operation knowledge
  • Strong use of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, etc.)

Working Conditions:

  • Onsite workstyle (80% office, 20% manufacturing area)
  • 5% travel (domestic or international)
  • 5-10 hours per week overtime
