Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our team at Elbit Systems of America. As a key member of our ROEM program, you will be responsible for assembling mechanical systems and integration, including large mechanical assembly and test, tooling, fixtures, jigs, lifting procedures, rigging, and various installation methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out specific technical assignments to solve manufacturing and assembly problems involved in the design and development of products, equipment, or processes.
  • Troubleshoot and integrate Elbit designs/assemblies onto land combat vehicles, including mechanical assemblies, installing subassemblies, conducting mechanical test procedures, and lifting and moving large assemblies safely.
  • Review designs and specifications for completeness, accuracy, compliance with specifications, and producibility.
  • Direct activities and provide technical direction to less senior technicians in building, testing, and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Research new materials, fabrication processes, equipment, tooling, and other methods to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Assist manufacturing in transitioning from development into production.
  • Prepare and review engineering specifications and procedures.
  • Conduct field testing and research work for new or existing applications.
  • Troubleshoot customer application problems.
  • Work independently and closely with electrical, mechanical, software, and systems engineering to troubleshoot systems, parts tracking, and ordering, modifying, manipulating, and configuring test setups.
  • Exercise specialized technical judgment in the substitution of parts and materials, evaluating and selecting optimum alternatives.
  • Develop or improve techniques to meet quality, function, and cost standards.
  • Support, test, and modify fixtures and jigs necessary for the assembly of components for various devices/instruments.
Requirements
  • Requires a technical Associate's Degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering technologies or a similar field and 6+ years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic electrical skills, including reading schematics, understanding electrical components, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Work safely with common shop tools, including pneumatic tools, power tools, saws, drills, presses, etc.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and knowledge of standard hardware and mechanic equipment and tools.
  • Experience with military vehicles or other heavy equipment is preferred.
  • Candidate should be willing to travel up to 25%.
  • Able to obtain security clearance.
