Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our team at Elbit Systems of America. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical support for the design, development, and testing of engineering prototypes and production manufacturing activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out specific technical assignments to solve manufacturing and assembly problems involved in product design and development.
  • Troubleshoot and integrate Elbit designs/assemblies onto land combat vehicles, including electrical boxes, sensors, software issues, cabling, and test stands.
  • Provide complex technical assistance in the design, development, testing, and modification of engineering prototypes.
  • Direct activities and provide technical direction to less senior technicians in building, testing, and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Research new materials, fabrication processes, equipment, tooling, and other methods to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Assist manufacturing in transitioning from development to production.
  • Prepare and review engineering specifications and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot customer application problems.
  • Work independently and closely with electrical, mechanical, software, and systems engineering to troubleshoot systems, parts tracking, and ordering, modifying, manipulating, and configuring test setups that support engineering prototypes.
  • Exercise specialized technical judgment in the substitution of parts and materials, evaluating and selecting optimum alternatives.
  • Develop or improve techniques to meet quality, function, and cost standards.
  • Support, test, and help modify in the engineering of test stands and procedures necessary for testing upper and lower level assemblies.
  • May act as a technical representative, traveling to customer sites and/or tradeshows to advise and instruct in the installation, operation, and maintenance of Company-produced products.
Qualifications
  • Requires a technical Associate's Degree in mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing engineering technologies or similar field and 6+ years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic electrical skills, including reading schematics, understanding electrical components, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Basic software skills, including reading test scripts, interpreting test results, and troubleshooting test faults.
  • Work safely with common shop tools, including pneumatic tools, power tools, saws, drills, presses, etc.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and knowledge of standard hardware and mechanic equipment and tools.
  • Experience with military vehicles or other heavy equipment is preferred.
  • Candidate should be willing to travel up to 25%.
  • Able to obtain security clearance.
