Position Overview

The role of the Counter Sales Representative is pivotal in delivering immediate assistance and product expertise to our clientele. This position is essential for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring prompt and courteous support for purchases and order processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer service by assisting customers with their purchases and managing order or return processes efficiently.
  • Contribute to driving sales in the electrical distribution sector while nurturing relationships with both new and existing customers.
  • Support daily restocking efforts, maintain showroom standards, and ensure a clean and organized workspace.
  • Assist with warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, stocking, and deliveries as required.
  • Stay updated on product knowledge to better serve customers.
  • Provide support to inside sales teams as necessary.
  • Report any safety hazards or customer satisfaction issues to management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Preferred experience includes 2+ years in customer service, sales, or electrical distribution.
  • Branch experience is a plus.

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of electrical products, including lighting and controls, is preferred.
  • Experience in electrical distribution or sales environments is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with automated order entry systems and Windows-based software is beneficial.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills are essential for effective communication.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Team-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient typing skills.
  • A positive attitude and a desire to enhance electrical product knowledge.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain stationary and move about as needed.
  • Frequent use of hands for operating equipment and computers.
