Position Overview

The role of the Counter Sales Representative is essential in delivering immediate assistance and product expertise to our clientele. This position is focused on providing outstanding customer service by promptly and courteously addressing customer inquiries and facilitating their orders efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their purchases and processing orders or returns efficiently.
  • Support the growth of electrical distribution sales by nurturing relationships with both new and existing customers.
  • Maintain the showroom by restocking products, ensuring cleanliness, and organizing displays.
  • Assist with warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, and stocking items as needed.
  • Stay updated on product knowledge to provide informed assistance to customers.
  • Collaborate with inside sales teams to enhance customer service.
  • Report any safety hazards or customer satisfaction issues to management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Preferred experience includes 2+ years in customer service, sales, or electrical distribution.
  • Branch experience is advantageous.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiarity with electrical products, including lighting and electrical commodities, is preferred.
  • Experience in electrical distribution or sales environments is a plus.
  • Proficiency with automated order entry systems and Windows-based software is beneficial.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills are essential for effective communication.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities are required.
  • Must be a collaborative team player with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Competence in typing and using a computer keyboard is necessary.
  • A positive attitude and a desire to enhance electrical product knowledge are important.

Working Conditions

The physical demands of this role include the ability to remain stationary, move about the workplace, and handle various weights. Employees may encounter high noise levels and electrical hazards, and will be required to perform tasks that involve bending, climbing, and lifting.
