Position Overview

The role of the Counter Sales Representative is pivotal in delivering immediate assistance and product expertise to our clientele. This position is essential for providing outstanding customer service by promptly and courteously addressing customer inquiries and efficiently processing orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting clients with their purchases and managing order or return processes.
  • Contribute to driving sales in the electrical distribution sector and nurture relationships with both new and existing customers.
  • Support daily inventory management, showroom upkeep, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Assist with warehouse operations as necessary, including receiving, shipping, stocking, and deliveries.
  • Stay updated on product knowledge to provide informed assistance.
  • Support inside sales efforts as required.
  • Notify management of any safety concerns or customer satisfaction issues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in customer service, sales, or electrical distribution.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in a branch setting.

Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of electrical products, including lighting, switchgear, and controls.
  • Experience in electrical distribution or related sales environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with automated order entry systems and Windows-based software.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, capable of effective communication across various levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Team-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in typing and computer usage.
  • Positive attitude and a desire to enhance electrical product knowledge.
