Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pulmonary Function Therapist to join our team at Saint Alphonsus Health System. As a key member of our Respiratory Care team, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic procedures, metabolic testing, and pulmonary function testing in our Pulmonary Function area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including pulmonary function testing, metabolic testing, and arterial blood gas sampling.
  • Evaluate the reliability and reproducibility of test results, patient performance, and clinical implications.
  • Document results of studies and therapy in the medical record.
  • Participate in patient education and provide age and developmental-appropriate care to children, adolescents, and adults.
  • Perform equipment calibration and quality assurance of equipment.
  • Administer patient assessment and education.
  • Input orders and changes in orders using the powerchart system.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
  • Certified or registered as a Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) or certified or registered as a Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT or RPFT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • 2 years of experience in hospital Respiratory Therapy and/or two years' experience in Pulmonary Function required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for HealthCare Provider (BLS/HCP) certification required.
