We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Care Coordinator to join our team at Medstar Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient flow and coordination of care across the continuum.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position that requires a high level of problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team including surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Coordinate patient transfers from outside facilities and monitor triage of in-house patients.">
  • Develop and manage surgical consent documents in collaboration with surgeons and an interdisciplinary team.">
  • Present necessary history and diagnostic study results to facilitate development and management of patient plans.">
  • Provide initial, continuing, and discharge education related to disease processes, treatment modalities, and follow-up care.">
  • Evaluate pre-op and post-op educational data to ensure quality updated education and materials for patients and families.">

Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required, along with relevant experience in nursing or a related field. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience.
