Position Overview: Novant Health Cancer Institute is in search of a distinguished and collaborative physician executive to lead their Oncology/Hematology program in the Winston-Salem area and its surroundings.

Key Highlights:

  • The program emphasizes disease sub-specialization through a multidisciplinary team approach. Close collaboration is maintained with heart and vascular, neurology, and surgical departments. Furthermore, there is a burgeoning FACT accredited cellular therapy initiative.
  • The Greater Winston-Salem Market operates as a division of Novant Health Cancer Institute, comprising over 100 specialists across more than 30 locations throughout North Carolina.
  • This leadership role reports directly to Dr. David Rizzieri, the system physician executive for Novant Health Cancer Institute. Together with fellow market leaders, strategic growth plans will be developed and implemented.
  • The selected provider will hold an active medical staff position with Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center and will be part of Novant Medical Group.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Must be board-certified or board-eligible in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology.
  • The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a physician leadership role, with ongoing formal leadership development encouraged during this position.
Responsibilities:
  • This position encompasses both administrative (0.5 FTE) and clinical (0.5 FTE) responsibilities.
  • The leader will oversee quality, safety, patient experience, financial performance, growth, and strategic objectives for the market, collaborating closely with an administrative partner.
  • Manage a team of over 50 providers across 9 clinic locations and work in conjunction with the leadership and administration of 5 regional hospitals.
