Novant Health Cancer Institute is in search of a distinguished and collaborative physician leader to assume the role of Market Leader for Oncology/Hematology in the Winston-Salem, NC area and its neighboring regions.

  • This program emphasizes disease sub-specialization and fosters a team-oriented, multi-disciplinary approach to patient care. Close collaboration exists with heart and vascular, neurology, and surgical institutes, alongside a developing FACT accredited cellular therapy program.
  • The Greater Winston-Salem Market operates as a division of Novant Health Cancer Institute, encompassing over 100 specialists across more than 30 locations throughout North Carolina.
  • This position reports directly to Dr. David Rizzieri, the system physician executive for Novant Health Cancer Institute. In collaboration with fellow market leaders, the individual will formulate and implement growth strategies for their team.
  • The provider will be an active member of the medical staff at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center and part of the Novant Medical Group.
Candidate Qualifications:
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology.
  • The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a physician leadership role, with ongoing formal leadership development encouraged during their tenure.
Responsibilities & Duties:
  • This position entails both administrative (0.5 FTE) and clinical (0.5 FTE) responsibilities.
  • The leader will oversee quality, safety, patient experience, financial performance, growth, and strategic objectives for the market, collaborating closely with an administrative partner.
  • Manage a team of over 50 providers across 9 clinic locations, working in conjunction with market leadership and administration across 5 regional hospitals.
