Novant Health Cancer Institute is in search of a distinguished and collaborative physician executive to lead their Oncology/Hematology program in the Winston-Salem area and its surroundings.

Key Highlights of the Opportunity:

  • This program emphasizes disease sub-specialization through a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care. Close collaboration exists with various institutes, including heart and vascular, neurology, and surgical services. Furthermore, there is a developing FACT-accredited cellular therapy program.
  • The Greater Winston-Salem Market operates as a division of Novant Health Cancer Institute, encompassing over 100 specialists across more than 30 locations throughout North Carolina.
  • This position reports directly to Dr. David Rizzieri, the system physician executive for Novant Health Cancer Institute. Together with fellow market leaders, the selected candidate will formulate and implement growth strategies for their team.
  • The physician will hold an active medical staff position with Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center and will be part of the Novant Medical Group.
Qualifications for Candidates:
  • Must be board-certified or board-eligible in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology.
  • The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a physician leadership role, with ongoing formal leadership development encouraged throughout this position.
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • This role encompasses both administrative (0.5 FTE) and clinical (0.5 FTE) responsibilities.
  • The leader will oversee quality, safety, patient experience, financial performance, growth, and strategic objectives for the market, collaborating closely with an administrative partner.
  • Lead a team of over 50 providers across 9 clinic locations while working in conjunction with the market leadership and administration of 5 regional hospitals.
