Position Overview: Novant Health Cancer Institute is in search of a distinguished and collaborative physician executive to oversee the Oncology/Hematology program in the Winston-Salem area and its neighboring regions.

Key Opportunities:

  • The program emphasizes disease sub-specialization through a multidisciplinary team approach. Close partnerships exist with various institutes, including heart and vascular, neurology, and surgical services. A growing FACT-accredited cellular therapy program is also part of our offerings.
  • The Greater Winston-Salem Market operates as a division of Novant Health Cancer Institute, comprising over 100 specialists across more than 30 locations throughout North Carolina.
  • This position reports directly to Dr. David Rizzieri, the system physician executive for Novant Health Cancer Institute. Collaboration with fellow market leaders will be essential in developing and executing growth strategies for the team.
  • The selected candidate will hold an active medical staff position with Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center and be integrated into Novant Medical Group.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Board certification or eligibility in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a physician leadership role is preferred, with ongoing professional development as a leader encouraged during this tenure.
Responsibilities:
  • This role encompasses both administrative (0.5 FTE) and clinical (0.5 FTE) responsibilities.
  • The leader will be accountable for quality, safety, patient experience, financial performance, growth, and strategic objectives within the market, working closely with an administrative partner.
  • Lead a team of over 50 providers across 9 clinic locations, collaborating with the leadership and administration of 5 regional hospitals.
