J & K Communications, Inc., a leading provider of communications equipment and services, is seeking an experienced Two-Way Radio Systems Technician to join its team. Based in Columbia City, IN, this role offers a unique opportunity to work with a variety of products and services, specializing in Public Safety, Healthcare, Education, Manufacturing, and Industrial sectors.

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in land mobile radio systems, including Conventional Analog, Digital, NXDN Trunking systems, P25 (Atlas Preferred), voted systems, IP-based systems, consoles, and I/O interconnections. A FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License, FCIA, NABER, or equivalent industry certification is a plus.

About the Role:

  • Install and maintain two-way radio systems, including base stations, repeaters, and mobile radios.
  • Troubleshoot and repair radio equipment, diagnosing faults and replacing faulty components.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and routine inspections of radio equipment.
  • Research and evaluate system problems and recommend solutions.
  • Work with the sales team to coordinate project installation/deployments.
  • Install and/or remove electronic equipment related to communications systems.
  • Assist with specifications and design of dispatch and remote communications installations.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency call-outs.
  • Communicate professionally with coworkers and customers daily.
  • Prioritize and multitask effectively.
