Role Summary

J & K Communications, Inc. is seeking an experienced Two-Way Radio Systems Technician to join their team. This role involves installing and maintaining two-way radio systems, including base stations, repeaters, and mobile radios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain two-way radio systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and repair radio equipment, diagnosing faults and replacing faulty components as needed.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and routine inspections of radio equipment to prevent downtime and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Research and evaluate system problems, recommending solutions to improve system performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to coordinate project installations and deployments, ensuring seamless execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Install and remove electronic equipment, such as radio interoperability gateways, remote controls, and external speakers, to support communications systems.
  • Assist in specifying and designing dispatch and remote communications installations, ensuring they meet customer needs and industry standards.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency call-outs, providing timely and effective support to customers.
  • Communicate professionally with coworkers and customers daily, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Prioritize and multitask effectively, managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in land mobile radio systems, conventional analog, digital, NXDN trunking systems, P25, voted systems, IP-based systems, consoles, and I/O interconnections.
  • FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License, FCIA, NABER, or equivalent industry certification is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and valid driver's license required.
