Job Summary

As a Cytologist at LifeBridge Health, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all services are delivered in accordance with the organization's mission statement and values. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare and screen all cytologic specimens, assist on fine needle procedures, and interpret findings under the direction of a pathologist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and screen all cytologic specimens to ensure accurate and timely results.
  • Assist on fine needle procedures to collect tissue samples for further analysis.
  • Interpret findings under the direction of a pathologist to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Follow laboratory policies and procedures in accordance with all regulatory agency requirements, including CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, and CLIA.
  • Determine that test results meet requirements of the quality control program and repeat tests as necessary to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain all necessary records and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Cytology, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Cytologist - Board Registered or specialist in Cytology by recognized credentialing board.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral, to effectively interact with hospital personnel and outside contacts.
