Job Overview
Turner & Townsend is in search of a skilled MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Cost Estimator who can fulfill client requirements through the provision of a comprehensive cost management service.

Role Responsibilities:
The MEP Cost Estimator will be tasked with delivering mechanical and/or electrical estimates and cost consulting for a diverse range of significant and intricate construction projects across various sectors, including Real Estate, Data Centers, High-Tech & Manufacturing, Life Sciences, and Infrastructure.

Key Duties Include:

  • Developing estimates and cost plans, culminating in the presentation of the final cost plan.
  • Estimating at various levels including conceptual, programming, and detailed stages.
  • Assisting in feasibility studies and preparing procurement documentation.
  • Overseeing all procurement activities, which encompass managing the pre-qualification process, generating bid lists, conducting bid analyses, and compiling contractual documents.
  • Engaging in post-contract cost variance assessments and managing change control processes, while escalating significant changes to the line manager.
  • Conducting cost checks and valuations on larger projects, ensuring a precise and timely cost-checking and valuation process.
  • Producing monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting findings to clients.
  • Contributing to value engineering efforts and negotiating final accounts.
  • Maintaining effective communication with clients and other consultants throughout all project phases.
  • Providing leadership to the cost management team as needed, ensuring accountability for all deliverables.
  • Identifying opportunities for business development with existing clients and reporting these opportunities to the appropriate line manager, while utilizing the marketing database.
  • Proposing enhancements for cost management procedures, templates, and products, and sharing ideas with the relevant line manager.
