Position Summary: The primary role involves planning, organizing, and managing reservations for daily service. The Host is responsible for warmly greeting and acknowledging all guests upon arrival and departure, ensuring that the team delivers exceptional hospitality and a delightful dining experience. Continuous communication with management during meal service is essential to facilitate smooth operations. The Host will engage with guests both over the phone and in-person with honesty and respect. Reporting to the General Manager and Managers, as well as occasionally to the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs, the Host plays a crucial role in fostering a positive work environment aligned with Galit's culture and values.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in genuine and warm interactions with all guests while maintaining professionalism and courtesy, utilizing language as directed by management.
  • Manage the reservation system to ensure an organized template.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests arriving and departing from the restaurant.
  • Guarantee that the team provides outstanding hospitality to all patrons.
  • Escort guests to their designated tables, seat them, and provide menus.
  • Respond to general inquiries from guests regarding restaurant operations, including hours, menu offerings, restroom locations, and parking directions.
  • Handle phone calls at the main host desk or in the office.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with all staff, Chefs, and Managers through a collaborative and positive work approach.
  • Communicate effectively with Chefs, Managers, and Front of House staff to meet guests' needs and requests.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of all floor plans and seating arrangements.
  • Maintain uniform cleanliness and adhere to proper attire standards at all times.
  • Follow safety protocols and CDC guidelines regarding health and safety.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Comply with side work requirements as outlined by restaurant management for opening and closing shifts.
  • 1-2 years of experience in high-volume environments as a host/hostess is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Resy reservation system is a plus.
  • Proficient in conversational English.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and interpersonal relations.
  • Highly responsible and dependable.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a team.
  • Focus on guest needs while remaining calm and courteous at all times.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Capability to read and interpret various documents, including safety rules and operational instructions. Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively with groups.
  • Ability to address practical problems and manage diverse variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands for various tasks, and occasionally climb or balance.
