Position Overview

HDR Engineering is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager to enhance our team in the Gulf Coast TX region. This role involves overseeing the planning, execution, and monitoring of complex water and wastewater treatment projects. The Senior Project Manager will also act as a client liaison and contribute to the growth of our practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Lead and coordinate the efforts of multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle, from initiation to completion.
  • Manage all facets of large multidisciplinary projects or medium-sized projects with significant technical complexity, involving substantial project staff.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery of all deliverables.
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships while participating in marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.
  • Facilitate work sessions for deliverable development in collaboration with other staff and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate staffing and workload throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring timely completion of all deliverables.
  • Monitor financial aspects of projects, adjusting team efforts to meet budgetary and scheduling constraints.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Operational, and Business leadership for regular project reviews.
  • Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures.
  • Supervise large project teams and mentor less-experienced Project Managers.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • PMP certification.
  • A minimum of 12 years of design experience in large, complex water and wastewater projects.
  • Strong client management and project management skills.
  • Experience in water/wastewater treatment plant design.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills, with a desire to advance our water/wastewater treatment practice.
  • Strong technical leadership, mentoring, and project management experience.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 10 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project (Access experience is a plus).
  • Demonstrated leadership, business development, and strategic planning skills.
