Position Overview:

We are in search of a dedicated and knowledgeable Permanent Attorney with a focus on Environmental Law to enhance our vibrant legal team. The successful candidate will deliver legal guidance and expertise on issues pertaining to environmental compliance and regulations. A thorough understanding of environmental statutes, including but not limited to CERCLA, RCRA, CWA, CAA, TSCA, and FIFRA, is essential. Candidates must be active members of the Michigan Bar and possess a transferable book of business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Offer specialized legal counsel on a variety of environmental matters, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Represent the firm in environmental litigation and regulatory matters.
  • Analyze and negotiate contracts related to environmental issues.
  • Collaborate with various departments to uphold compliance with environmental laws.
  • Draft and assess environmental policies and procedures.
  • Conduct legal research and formulate legal opinions on diverse environmental topics.
  • Cultivate and maintain productive relationships with regulatory bodies.
  • Provide training and support to staff regarding environmental legislation.


Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution.
  • Active membership in the Michigan Bar.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental law.
  • Proven success with a transferable book of business is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations.
  • Exceptional legal research and writing capabilities.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
  • High standards of professionalism and ethics.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and software.
